School's Holiday 3 and a Visit from Oz

Our third term's school holidays begins tomorrow, Saturday, 5 July 2008. We will start our Wing Chun class again on Monday, 13 October 2008 at the Remuera HQs, then followed by other branches.

We'd also like to take this opportunity to greet one of our instructors, Sifu Arthur Batakin, who visited us with his son from Gold Coast, Australia this week. Arthur learnt Wing Chun directly under Sifu Cheng for many years, and now has opened his own school in Gold Coast. Both, Arthur and his son trained in our last Friday class and we had some fun together. We wish him a pleasant holiday in New Zealand and hope he can share his Wing Chun knowledge and skills with more and more Aussies.

As a closing note, last week we bade farewell to one of our intermediate students, Kim, and wished him a safe journey and a wonderful experience with his new adventure in Melbourne, Australia. Kim had trained with us for a number of years and decided it was time to take the leapt across the Tasman. I personally will miss Chisau sessions with Kim, and hope he can find a good school in Melbourne to further his studies in Wing Chun.
